Collaborate

It's easy to find yourself overwhelmed with things to do. We'll make excuses as to why we can't work on our personal projects as artists, illustrators, and designers. But I have recently joined a local Creative Guild that meets once a week in an art studio and I highly recommend it! Basically, a group of talented individuals get together and bring their own supplies and snacks. This is a dedicated time to work on personal projects and gain constructive criticism from other perspectives. There may also be times when one or more of the artists will volunteer to demonstrate a new technique they learned, or to educate the participants in something they do on a daily basis. Just last week, I got to watch a skilled woman produce amazing "Arashi Shibori" works of art. So if you're feeling like you don't have time to tend to your self-initiated projects, try looking for, or even creating your own, Creative Guild!
